Lighting for a supermarket chain store
Project manager: Yevhen Luchnyi
Implementation period: Autumn 2024
Objective
As part of the lighting project for the supermarket, Nova Light’s main task was to develop a lighting concept for a new-format store that combines a classic shopping area with a culinary space and a café.
The tasks included:
- Ensuring high-quality, functional lighting for the sales area
- Selecting specialized lighting spectra for key product groups: vegetables, bread, pastries, meat products, and alcohol (particularly whiskey and cognac)
- Seamlessly integrating a large culinary and café zone with ample seating

Solution
The Nova Light team created a solution that considers different customer behavior scenarios — from product selection to spending time in the relaxation zone.
Specialized light spectra were used for highlighting key product categories:
- Food Premium Red – for meat products
- Premium White – for the alcohol section (whiskey and cognac)
- Warm White Fresh – for the café and culinary zone, creating a warm and relaxing ambiance
To achieve maximum effect, equipment with a high Color Rendering Index (CRI) was used to preserve the natural color tones of the products.
Each functional area received its own lighting solution, all integrated into a unified, stylish concept.
Result
- The store received comfortable, aesthetic lighting with clear accents on key categories
- The café zone became an organic part of the overall retail space
- The lighting supports not only functionality but also atmosphere — becoming part of the customer experience.
